Tourist Travel Requirements for a Myanmar (Burma) Visa for Australian Citizens

  1. Former nationals

Former nationals of Myanmar, regardless of their Immigration status in Australia, MUST contact the Embassy of Myanmar directly before submitting their application with VisasDirect. The Embassy of Myanmar will not accept applications submitted by VisasDirect unless the applicant has spoken directly with the Embassy first.

This does not apply to former nationals who are frequent travellers to Myanmar and have had previous visas issued in their current passport.

It is recommended that applicants include a cover letter with their application, confirming that contact has been made with the Embassy.

It should be noted that the applicant themselves must contact the Embassy direct, as the Embassy will not discuss applications for former Myanmar nationals with a third party on behalf of the applicant.

Please Note: The processing delay of visas will vary and will be determined by the Embassy. The applicant should establish the processing delay when making the initial call to the Embassy. Extensive processing delays may be experienced and VisasDirect is unable to request processing updates or estimated release dates.
